The O2 Arena
You can almost see The O2 Arena when you step outside All Nighter Studios. This behemoth is the ninth largest stadium in the world with a capacity of 20,000. The biggest names in music have performed here including a ten-night long residency from Queen.
In the upcoming months, you can listen to huge figures in music here, including New Order, Muse, and The Chemical Brothers. Whoever you decide to see here, it is sure to be an unforgettable night.
The Shacklewell Arms
Further to the north in Hackney is a longer excursion from our studios, and a pub known for being the king of alternative music in London. Big names can be found in this rough-around-the-edges venue, with past headline shows from The Horrors and Skrillex, but most nights you can find the most exciting new talent.
This venue is also a great place to celebrate your first release or the end of a long recording session at All Nighter Studios. Its Dance Yrself Clean clubnight has become a staple for post-punk and alternative fans.
The Shacklewell Arms is also a great place to see and be seen. Lots of young artists have had their big break at this pub venue and you could be the next.
If you fancy a night out but Shacklewell Arms alternative nature isn’t for you, XOYO in Shoreditch offers a great diversity of music to choose from at their club nights which run six days a week. Hip hop fans simply have to head down on a Thursday night to enjoy Your Mum’s House which runs every week.
Clubs like XOYO are the perfect place to get inspired because they combine your favourite party-starting anthems with fresh hip hop and R’n’B. You can have a great time while keeping up with the latest movers in the industry, making sure that your next track is ahead of the game.
After seeing gigs and going to club nights in these great venues you will be itching to get on stage to show East London what you can do. Loads of venues in the city have open mic nights where anybody can get some stage time, but one of the best is Luna which is slightly further afield towards the North East of the city.
Every Wednesday, this venue hosts an open mic night. All you have to do is turn up with an instrument or a backing track, and sign up. Open mics like these are the ideal place to practice your stagecraft in preparation for your first real shows.
